To all my curious, caring friends:
Spent about 5 hours at the Southcrest ER last night. Vomiting, nausea, severe head, neck and back pain, highest blood pressure in my life (way beyond hypertension. I think I broke some records). The doc said it was good that I came in; I could have had a heart attack or a stroke at any time.
Let's get something straight here. I smoke MAYBE 6 cigarettes a day, sometimes less. I don't eat a lot of high-sodium food. In fact I eat very healthy, am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, and I try not to stress too much. I haven't been very active lately, mostly because of the ongoing pain issues. Still, the jury is still out on what's causing my skyrocketing blood pressure.
Took them 3 hours to get my blood pressure down to 'safer' levels (though it was still pretty damn high). Sent me home at 4:30 in the morning with five prescriptions. I feel very old today.
So for the time being, all is well now in Bruce's world. He is at home, diggin' painkillers and blood thinners and anti-inflammatories. Watching Heima. Feeling his mortality just a bit and craving the self-indulgence of the things that truly inspire him: music and love.
The show must go on. I could live or die at any time, just like anyone else on this beautiful, desolate earth. I'd rather snuff out doing what I am here to do, rather than worrying about it.

The new Novachild Album, In Silico, to be released sometime in early Spring, needs cover art. I've done all of my own artwork up to this point and, while I'm capable and creative in that area, I am opening the slate for you to make your mark in (Novachild) history.
WINNER will receive a free CD when they are printed, special thanks, and a song named after them in some form or fashion. I might even buy you dinner. I can't offer money.
RULES:
1/ Up to 2 entries per person.
2/ NO PINK. I hate pink.
3/ Must be original art.
4/ Must be submitted as a high res image (300dpi), PNG, JPEG, TIFF
5/ Must be 4.87" w x 4.84" h. 1/8" bleed for printing.
6/ No text - just the image. I will add my logo and title.
7/ You give me rights to use this artwork for any Novachild promotion forever.
8/ All submissions must be received by February 15, 2008.
SUGGESTIONS:
1/ I like orange, brown, dark red, black, green hues... Fall colors, rust colors
2/ I won't be responding to all of them. Just the one I pick as the winner.
3/ Listen to my music to get a feel for it.
4/ The 'theme' for In Silico is a sort of reawakening, rebirth.
