Dear Santa

Short List of Xmas Gift Ideas for Novachild

I know it may seem vain and greedy of me, but everyone's always telling me how they didn't get me anything because they just didn't know WHAT to get me. I'm pretty cool with anything, as long as it's quirky, geeky, or edible.

So without further interruption, here are just a few ideas:

Chinese Fortune Sticks
Motherboard Christmas Tree
Grow a Jesus
Glow Brick
Laserpod
Plasma Night Light
T-Qualizer Shirt
First Doctor Shirt
The Master's Laser Screwdriver!
Sonic Screwdriver

That's a good start... Not that I expect any of this, lol.

OT: Pointless YT Daily Harvest

Wait til you're in the middle of a heated argument with a spouse, then play this one really loud:

You think you're bored? Well, at least these folks found a use for some drywall sitting around....

Same Theme, a bit less repetitive and much more amusing. I almost pity the poor Tetris piece that can't seem to find a perfect thing to fit with (though the phone booth was a good match for luvvv)

And believe it or not, this was my FAVORITE song in 6th Grade. I BLARED the mutha on my stylin' boombox while showing off my Adidas jumpsuit to all da junior high ladies.

And we won't talk about the cardboard I used to carry to school for breakdancing purposes. Or the fact that I remembered nearly all of the lyrics :)

Grandmaster Flash is a god, though. Props to the pioneer of scratch.

New Novachild Site

I re-engineered the Novachild site to more accurately reflect the project. I moved the journal to its own page.

Check it out, leave me some myspace comments!

I'm also looking to book some more shows. If you are a venue looking for original, live electronic music, or a band looking for a unique opener, drop me a line.

Cheers,

Photos: Live @ The Continental

The last Novachild performance was my personal favorite this season. I performed a full set of 15 songs, and the swanky ambiance of The Continental was quite nice. I want to thank my special Guests for turning out an extra-delicious performance as well: Najmi's Spirit Bellydancers, DJ Nutter, DJ Balance, and Tulsa's finest MC, Xanaboobs.

I will be taking a few weeks to gather my energies for future shows, and I'm working on my next CD as well. Meanwhile, enjoy these pictures of the show taken by my friend Tim Casey.

NOVACHILD LIVE SATURDAY

Updates: Star Zaferis of Najmi's Spirit will be performing a special solo belly dance, and DJ Balance will also be spinning the night away after my sets are through.

XanaBoobs will also be singing a special song that I requested :) You'll just have to come and find out what it is!

And the start time is 10PM, not 9 as originally posted. Come out, have a blast, drink a few rounds with me, and dance the night away at Tulsa's Swankiest Club!

Novachild At Work

Hello everyone. I've been working like mad to cook up a new set for the coming November performances. In fact, I seem to be wearing out the pads on my Sennheiser headphones. Fueled by a constant supply of caffeine (Breve', latte', and prodigious amounts of espresso and Turkish coffee), I am on a quest to scrape every last note of music from my insides... staying up far too late on work nights, leaving no time for social interaction. But for me, at least, it will be worthwhile.

Here's a pic of me taking a 'break' at a coffee shop last week. I can't seem to go anywhere without bringing the music with me!

Yum!

I am one happy geek. Celebrating the joys of cultural refinement in a steaming cup of Turkish coffee!

My First Turkish Coffee

My friend and coworker Randy shared a cup of authentic Turkish Coffee with me today.

I just have to say.... espresso is weak! Weak! I tell you! This stuff is the creme de la creme of coffee beverages. What I enjoy about it most is the texture, and the way it is prepared in a little copper pot with an angled handle called a Cezve.Preparing turkish coffee is a fine, delicate art. Because it will begin to foam as it boils, you have to watch carefully. You are supposed to let it foam three times before serving, pulling it off of the stove after each initial foaming and being very careful not to create a coffee volcano.

The stimulating effect is nice, too. I now understand why there are so many thinkers and poets in the Middle East. This stuff is definitely brain candy.
