Random Bits: Doctor Who on SFC!

I've not been terribly pleased with SciFi Channel's handling of my other favorite series', Mystery Science Theater 3000, Farscape, Invisible man to name just a few. They were killed while they still had a good few years left in them. But that's the way it goes in TV, I suppose. However, as a fan of genre programming, it's not easy to accept the fate of a cherished and much-loved series.

Still, I'm very relieved that SOMEONE is picking up the new series of Doctor Who in the US, as it deserves to be seen by more people. Yes, it's quirky. Yes, it's very very British and much of the cheeky moments will fly right over most American heads (as clueless and dim as most of us are about, well, reality in general). But it's just so exciting and fun, and Eccleston was effing brilliant as the 9th Doctor (and after watching the Christmas Special, and catching the mini-series Casanova, I'm convinced that David Tennant will probably be the best Doctor yet).

Read the SFC Article here. And thank them for finally supporting Doctor Who. God knows they've been ignoring the classic episodes for far too long as it is.
