The Evil that We Do

1) Spc. Sabrina Harman

Compare these quotes with the image of abuse that you see on the bottom of this page.
"I felt very strongly in Sabrina Harman," (Defense Lawyer) Spinner said. "I
feel she's a very naive, very innocent person … She didn't know how to react to
that experience (at Abu Ghraib)."

"She presented a very positive image, a very caring image," (Master Sgt.)
Lipinski testified. "They were a country very much in need and she filled some
of the gaps."

2) Newsweek Was Right

An informative, documented column by The Nation's Ari Berman.

I also might add the following: The news is wrong or misleading nearly all of the time. Are we going to start blaming every riot, every bombing, every bad thing on news stories, or are we going to promote a healthier public debate over what is happening in the world? Wouldn't that be nice. Imagine the public actually crying out for legitimate news and journalism, rather than the harshly biased bullshit that spews forth from all angles.
