Feck Rep. Jim Gibbons!

Gibbons rallies GOP

He wondered what Lincoln's feelings would be at this juncture of American history."How would he feel, what would he be thinking about, all of the dissension, all of the division, that the liberals and a few others, including some our movie stars and song makers, are trying to divide this country over its efforts to establish freedom and liberty in countries around the world?" Gibbons questioned.

Lincoln. Was he a savior? Hardly. Was he a messiah? Not even close. Lincoln was a plain-spoken man with his own ideals, and they weren't all pure and saintly. His ideals were also a product of the times; he didn't have to deal with the amount of pseudo-fascism that continues to grow in our 'democratic' political arena.

I have a statement, Mr. Gibbons; dissent is patriotic. Do you know your history? It says so in the Constitution you are sworn to live up to. Lincoln believed that truth was the foundation for a workable government. Clearly you do not.

"We are all here tonight because men and women of the United States military have given their lives for our freedom," Gibbons continued. "We are here tonight
not because of Rosie O'Donnell, Martin Sheen, George Clooney, Jane Fonda or Phil
Donahue - they never sacrificed their lives for us or for liberty."
Have you? Seeing as how you are still alive, I suppose the answer is obvious. And one thing you forget is that the people you mention are also Americans. Their freedom to bitch and moan is the same as yours.
"I say we tell those liberal, tree-hugging, Birkenstock-wearing, hippie, tie-dyed liberals to go make their movies and their music and whine somewhere else," Gibbons said to another burst of applause.
Give me a break. You're talking about half of the population of this country. I don't see THAT many tie-dyes when I go out on weekends.
He said if they lived in Iraq or Afghanistan, "Ironically they would be put to death at the hands of Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden."
Do you want liberals to be lined up and shot, or are you just being smarmy?
"I want to know how these very people who are against war because of loss of life can possibly be the same people who are for abortion?" Gibbons said. "They are the same people who are for animal rights, but they are not for the rights of the unborn."
The terms and justification for abortion is up to the patient and her Doctor. Not with greedy, bloodthirsty republican politicians.

I support animal welfare because all life deserves to life free of abuse, torture, and needless slaughter. Millions of animals are slaughtered and abused every day by sick, greedy bastards like yourself who see them as nothing but a product to be used and discarded. Your argument only works if you can fit everyone with opposing viewpoints inside your closely-monitored 'liberal' box, which you cannot.

So instead of making a complete moronic ass out of yourself, maybe you should go back to political science 101 and remember that we are ALL Americans.
