Canada Wants to Legalize Gay Marriage!

With all the bad news lately, it's nice to hear that one of our neighbors has the intestinal fortitude to give equal marriage rights to same-sex couples.
If the law is passed, Canada would become the third country after Belgium and
the Netherlands to permit same-sex marriages.
Canadians aren't without their disagreements. And a proposal isn't a guarantee that it will pass, though a majority of Parliament members have already backed the bill. At the least it's an honest attempt to try and affect some positive change, to stand up and give equal rights instead of letting hatred and prejudice rule the day. The shameful Bush administration could learn a thing or two from the Canadian Liberal Party.
