Why would he have any regrets unless he felt that the tapes showed something the public probably should not see?
In that case, he is a closet-case censor with only self-interest in mind. The public has a right to know the track record of their elected officials. It's a part of the fucking job! If you don't want to be scrutinized, don't put your ass in the firing line!
If anyone buys this shit that he's a 'traitor' to the president, they are fooling themselves and perpetuating a lie.
