Alberto Gonzales Criticized by the Dean of Yale Law School

Just a few months ago, hardly anyone knew the name Alberto Gonzales. Now, thanks to his nomination for the position of Attorney General by President Dubya Bush, everybody either likes him or hates him.

And now, the Dean of Yale Law School is calling him out.

Harold Koh testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about a January 2002 memo written by Attorney General-nominee Alberto Gonzales when he was White House counsel. He called it the quote, "most legally erroneous opinion I've ever read," end quote, and said it was a stain on U.S. law and on the nation's reputation.

And the guy's still expected to win confirmation. Sheesh. We might as well have another brutal asshole in the cabinet. Nothing so far has helped, and it couldn't get much worse, could it?

Maybe, just maybe, another four years of this crap and more people will realize what a mistake they made. That is my hope, and my fear.
