Today

Woke up late, threw on my clothes, barely brushed my hair and sped to work (so I could arrive early enough to let people in).  Cleaned up the messes I made throughout the week, filed, organized, and such.  Nothing special.

Got home, kicked on the radio to listen to the DNC speeches.  I thought the voice I was hearing was President Bush, but it turned out to be General Clark.  I really tried to find the difference in what he was saying and what the republicans preach every day.  It was tough, but there were one or two moments where the two positions diverged.

Honestly, I want an anti-war presidential choice. I like Kerry - I think he's got a great presence, and a great history, but I don't like the pro-war stance because it undermines everything I believe in.

Both sides play the fence, but not the same fence.  Both sides have a vested interest in programs that benefit the wealthy, but Kerry at least carries a baton for the rest of America, and John Edwards had a nice perspective during the primaries.  I really don't want to vote for someone who will spend my tax dollars dropping bombs on arabs, but Nader doesn't have a chance and I would feel really dirty voting for Bush.

I almost feel forced into a Kerry vote.  Which is why I'm having such a hard time with this.  And because I live in Oklahoma, a democratic vote won't mean diddly-squat anyhow.  This is the near-hopelessness that many of my peers feel, and it's a shame that the popular vote has nothing to do with the election process.  But we press on in hope that our futile efforts will not be in vain.

Let me be clear: I think John Kerry is the best choice of the three. So he will probably get my vote. I also think that most democrats are full of shit, are just as dishonest and corrupt as any other politician, and that humanity will never evolve to an advance state of global responsibility until we abandon these two greed-driven parties for a more honest and responsible choice.

This is a desperate vote.

I hope humanity survives.

Over and out!
