Youth Circle What is the Youth Circle about? Youth Class parallels service every Sunday morning, from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Class is primarily for school age children from kindergarten up to high school. General format for class: We usually begin with some quiet time, meditation, and possibly some music. Pictures for coloring are always available with uplifting stories. Crafts in association with the stories and lesson for the day are always fun! For the young adults we work on core concepts, affirmations, and foundational principles of Science of Mind. The younger children are included to their personal ability of understanding. This is more than you might think!!! Class is not always laid out this way, we get creative and improvise when things get exciting!!!! Some of the unique things we have done: Non-violence banner designed to allow the youth to add to it. If they have an experience related in any way to non-violence, cooperation etc. they can add an item to the banner in recognition of that experience. The banner reflects the faces of Martin Luther King Jr. and Ghandi, two men who, in there own very different ways, did a great deal to create an awareness of peace and the need for a harmonious co-existence on our planet. Thank you to Elaine Clark for this brilliant creation! Easter Sunday, we learned about the continuum of creation from the point of absolute potential, (in this case an egg with undecorated warm fuzzy in the center). They all had a blast decorating the fuzzies and learned about the Science of mind symbol in relation to the egg shape. They learned that we are all connected and that we have the same creative potential beginning with love. We gave egg-fuzzies to the entire congregation in recognition that they also are at the point of infinite absolute potential.
If you would like to find out more about what your youth did in class feel free to ask the teacher. We will be happy to share and quite possibly have some info we can copy off for you to take home. NOTE CONCERNING PRESCHOOL CHILDREN: We will be happy to work something out with you on occasion for the younger "preschool" children, but until we have the facilities and volunteers to specifically benefit this age, no promises can be made for weekly care of very young ones.
